Privacy Policy
1. Overview & Commitment
SOV ("we", "our", or "developer") is fully dedicated to safeguarding your privacy and user data. This Privacy Policy outlines how the OneTap NetFilter Android application handles data and complies with the Google Play Developer Program Policies (specifically VpnService Policy and User Data Policy).
2. Android VpnService Purpose & Data Safety
OneTap NetFilter uses the official Android VpnService API to provide core security and privacy functionalities.
- Purpose of Use: Creates a local virtual network interface (TUN) on your device to intercept and inspect DNS queries (UDP 53). This allows the app to block malicious trackers, malware, and phishing domains before connections are made, and to safely relay legitimate queries.
- No Remote VPN Servers: Unlike commercial VPN providers, OneTap NetFilter does not route your network traffic through any remote VPN proxy server. All packet routing and filtering take place locally on your device (Loopback).
- Transient Processing & Zero Logging: Packets passing through the local VPN interface are processed in real-time within volatile device memory and immediately discarded. No browsing history, visited URLs, or payload data are recorded or transmitted.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
OneTap NetFilter does not require account registration or login, and never collects:
- Personal Identifiers (Name, Email address, Phone number)
- Persistent Device Identifiers (IMEI, Android ID, Advertising ID)
- Internet activity, search logs, visited domains, or packet content
- Precise or approximate GPS/network location
4. On-Device Local Data Storage
To enable customizable filtering features, the following data is stored solely in your device's private local storage (Room Database & DataStore):
- Custom Rules: User-defined allowlists and blocklists
- Filter Rules Cache: Publicly available AdGuard open-source filter lists downloaded to protect against new threats
- Local Statistics: Counters for blocked threats and queries (permanently wiped upon app uninstallation)
- Preferences: Theme settings, upstream DNS configurations, and language configurations
5. Diagnostic & Crash Data (Firebase)
To identify software crashes and continuously improve application stability, we utilize Google Firebase (Crashlytics & Analytics).
- Data Collected: Non-identifiable diagnostic metrics such as crash stack traces, device model, operating system version, and app version.
- Purpose: Troubleshooting bugs, preventing app crashes, and optimizing performance.
- Safety: No PII, network payload, or DNS request data is ever included in crash diagnostics. All data is processed securely through Google's infrastructure.
6. In-App Purchases & Billing
In-app purchases or subscriptions are securely processed through the official Google Play In-App Billing system. We never access, collect, or store your credit card details or financial information.
7. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in accordance with legal and technological updates. Any modifications will be posted on this page and reflected within the application.
